Carbon dioxide has many applications, some of which have been used for years, e.g. in the oil industry. Many other applications are new and range from the production of synthetic fuels, rapid cooling of machinery, medicine or increasing the plant growth in greenhouses.

CO₂ to date has been rare and scarce as it is normally industry produced, but the advent of carbon capture changes this: Capturing CO₂ on a large scale opens up a wide range of possibilities and at the same time helps to solve the problems of climate change.

On the way to a net-zero future, it will be crucial to reduce emissions, but it will also be necessary to transport, measure and store CO₂ on a large scale.
